Pink Diamond Fetches Record-Breaking $10.8 Million at Christie’s Hong Kong

In a historic auction held on November 27, the largest internally Flawless pink diamond ever presented for bidding achieved a sale price of HKD83.9 million ($10.8 million) at Christie’s Hong Kong. According to IDEX Online, the gem surpassed  its pre-sale minimum of $9 million.


“The Pink Supreme” – a Fancy Intense Type IIa Pink cushion brilliant-cut diamond weighing 15.48 carats – is set in a gold ring with pear and round white diamonds. All in all, Hong Kong’s Magnificent Jewels auction raked in HKD491.4 million ($63.1 million).


Other noteworthy pieces included a 3.51-carat VS2 fancy vivid blue pear modified brilliant-cut diamond set in a gold ring with round white diamonds, which sold for HKD5 million ($644,000); and a ring with over 6 carats of fancy vivid blue and pink diamonds, along with fancy intense blue and purple-pink diamonds, which sold for HKD3.7 million ($470,000).
