Jay-Z’s Second-Hand Watch Nets $1.5 Million for Charity

At a charity event aimed at supporting ex-prisoners, a Jacob & Co. watch once owned by the renowned rapper Jay-Z raked in $1.5 million, IDEX Online reports.

The striking timepiece – a white gold Caviar Tourbillon World Timer with a dial and bracelet set with an array of 498 baguette diamonds – weighs 35.52 carats. The watch can display the time in 25 different cities.

Jay-Z donated the watch for a star-studded casino night and auction in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The event successfully raised $24 million, with the watch sold to an undisclosed collector. All the proceeds from the event were channeled towards the Reform Alliance, a charitable organization co-founded by Jay-Z himself. The Reform Alliance’s mission is to support the reintegration of ex-offenders into the workforce and advocate for legislative changes to reform probation and parole systems.
