Sotheby’s Hong Kong auction on October 7 is set to feature a dazzling array of contemporary jewelry crafted by renowned artist Anna Hu. Among the highlights is a “show-stopping” diamond necklace that will take center stage, according to Rough & Polished.
At the upcoming Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite Autumn Sale, Anna Hu’s collection, titled the “Silk Road Music Collection,” will feature five contemporary jewelry pieces, with the star attraction being the Dunhuang Pipa necklace, set with a 100.02-carat fancy intense yellow diamond. Resembling a four-stringed Chinese lute, this eye-catching piece is estimated to command a price ranging from $5 million to $6.25 million.
Anna Hu drew inspiration for her latest designs from the historical and cultural exchanges that transpired along the Silk Road, an ancient trade route connecting China to the Mediterranean Sea.
